Paper labels deliver maximum performance in dry environments with no direct exposure to water, oil, or solvents. Typical applications include: bakery boxes for confectionery, kraft paper bags for roasted coffee, tea box packaging, carton cosmetics packaging, catalog labels, and gift labels. In these scenarios, paper labels offer a natural, approachable feel that aligns with the sustainable packaging trend many brands are currently pursuing.
The clearest limitation of paper label printing is its resistance to water and moisture. Uncoated paper labels will smudge, wrinkle, and tear when exposed to condensation in refrigerated cabinets or high-humidity environments. For products requiring cold storage, businesses should consider BOPP film labels instead of paper decals, or opt for single-sided PE-coated paper to enhance moisture resistance.
Quality Control in Paper Decal Printing
An important factor for paper decal labels is ink absorbency. Paper with high ink absorbency can make printed colors appear dull and lose contrast, especially in designs with large solid color areas.
