For beverages requiring a premium effect, clear-on-clear labels create the illusion of printing directly onto the bottle—a highly sought-after solution in the premium mineral water and wine segments.
Cold glue labels use a water-based adhesive that activates at the moment of application, making them ideal for extremely high-volume production at low cost. However, this label type is less durable in humid environments and prone to wrinkling when exposed to ice water. Shrink sleeves envelop the entire bottle body, enabling 360-degree printing with maximum display area, but come at a higher cost and require specialized heat-shrink equipment.
Criteria for Choosing Beverage Labels by Segment
For high-volume water and soft drink bottles, the top priorities are application speed and low unit cost, typically using white or clear BOPP film with moisture-resistant permanent adhesive. For glass bottles such as craft beer, wine, and spirits, art paper combined with foil stamping, embossing, and matte lamination creates an artisanal, premium feel. For ready-to-drink beverages and cold brew in chilled displays, water-resistant labels with PET film and specialized adhesive are essential to prevent peeling or bubbling.
